It pays to be flexible

Here we are, back in the UAE. As is often the way, there was a last minute change of plan and the move up the road to Dubai was scrapped. This is quite usual for this neck of the woods and I have learned to be flexible and adapt quickly to new circumstances, like the childhood game I vaguely remember where somebody shouts "all change".

We have moved apartment for the 6th time in as many years, and I have managed to find a corner of the living room for my micro-studio.  It helps that I'm not an expat, my home and studio are in the UK and that keeps me grounded when all around is constantly shifting.

I have begun to think and plan for next year. A number of opportunities have come along so I cleared the decks with a limited edition sale over on  Facebook .  A huge thank you to everyone who bought a piece of my work, it means I can continue to make, which is what I love to do. I can't really express my gratitude enough.

I now have space and a much needed injection of funds burning a hole in my pocket. I'm hoping to use my earnings to do a course at West Dean College , in one hand, out the other!  As I came to glass engraving after a career as an illustrator,  I feel  it is essential to try and learn my craft properly from those at the top of the engraving food chain!

You must be my flexible friend!
It's a good approach to life, I think, that you can up-sticks and that you can travel light. Living in the moment! Yeah.
